Hosted flyfishing trip to the Maldives
The trips are all planned to coincide with the best flyfishing seasons, tides and moon phase and are limited to a two to six anglers per trip to ensure guest comfort and personal attention
The boat trip
Fly to Male capital of the Maldives
Day one: Arrival at Male International Airport. Transfers with domestic flight. Boarding and accommodation at our 8 person Safari vessel. Afterwards cold drinks are served together with a little bite of delight.
There we will give you all a briefing on what your mission will be the next 8 days followed by a tactics and tackle talk.
The next eight days we will take you on a personal guided flyfishing tour at some of the worlds most exciting and picture perfect scenary imaginable.
You will be personally guided with a couple buddy’s through sandy flats to the harsh coral reef in the unforgiving/challenging surf zone, which is where you will find the biggest monsters of the coral flats.
In the evening we will set up fly tying stations fully equipped with all materials needed.
Day nine: Departure.

There will be a bar onboard with a good selection of snacks and both alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages at low cost.

The Island trip

There we will give you all a briefing on what your mission will be the next 8 days followed by a tactics and tackle talk.
The next eight days we will take you on a personal guided flyfishing tour at some of the worlds most exciting and picture perfect scenary imaginable.

Due to the Covid-19 situation around the world, GTFlyfishing has decided as per August 1st 2020 to guarantee one hundred percent refund of your payments to GTFlyfishing or the possibility to move your trip to an other date in case of the Maldivian authorities decides to close down their country for foreigners due to Covid-19. This guarantee applies if the closedown is announced between one month and 24 hours before your departure day.
Maldives
The Maldives comprise 26 atolls and 1192 islands between latitudes 1º S and 8º N and longitude 72º and 74º E spred in a north to south direction over a distance of 960 kilometers and have a range of different habitats including shallow coast, turtle grass flats and reef ecosystems. This offers prime habitat for some of the biggest Giant Trevallys imaginable.
The main species to target on the coral flats are Giant Trevally and Bluefin Trevally.
The Golden Trevally tend to be found tailing on turtle grass flats with the occasional Bonefish. You will be making pin-point casts to wildly tailing Triggers and Snappers. Good casting skills and the ability to see fish are essential to be successful when fishing the surf zone.
